Firstly, I've received countless emails asking about my artistic process in creating the concept illustrations you see on my site. This spring I was approached to be featured in Ballistic Publishing's newest book, d'artiste Digital Painting 2. The book features each of the four artists' gallery spread, a lengthy interview/bio, and three fully illustrated step by step tutorials. You can purchase the book on Ballistic Publishing's official site in a standard or leather bound edition featuring cover art by my colleague Jason Juan and four collectible lithographs, including my "Destroyer" piece.
Second, Into the Pixel, the annual video game art show took place in Los Angeles in tandem with E3. The last couple of years I had some pieces accepted into the 16 piece show, however, this year I received an invitation for a spot on the judges panel. I was happy to accept, and happier still to see four pieces were selected from Guild Wars! Richard Anderson, Kekai Kotaki and Tyler West were accepted into the show, and no, we were not allowed to vote for work we recognized as our colleagues' :) Congratulations to the guys on their success!
As for showing my work, I had a looping digital slide show in a dedicated room at the Beijing Summer Digital Entertainment Jam, I had a couple pieces showing at the Paris Game Developers Conference, and I was featured in the latest issue of Communication Arts. Last, but not least, if you live in France, please check out the July/August issue of Architectures a vivre. It's a beautifully laid out magazine featuring some stunning architectural and industrial design work, so I was very happy to lend my art and interview with the French publication. |
